A good tequila makes all of the difference in a margarita and while we can’t always (or shouldn’t always) use Patron for our margaritas, it is by far one of the cleanest tasting tequilas.  These margaritas taste completely different with Patron – and we have zero side effects the next morning because of the high quality. We have been making this Patron margarita at home and our guests love it each and every time with  a hint of Patron lime liquor.

This margarita is guaranteed to please if you are entertaining guests; they will immediately notice the high quality of the tequila and the smooth taste!  This recipe is also easily multiplied to make larger portions and serve in a pitcher if you want to have more than one. Simply mix the first three ingredients and wait to add the club soda until you are serving it.

Lime Patron Margarita Recipe Directions:

  1. Gather ingredients.  You can use a different type of Patron if you prefer; the Anejo just happens to be our favorite.
  2. If you like salt on your rim, now is the time to salt your glass.  I skip this as I happen to love the taste of tequila on its own.
  3. Mix tequila, margarita mix and liqueur in shaker and pour over ice.
  4. If you prefer, you can also just pour these three ingredients in a glass over ice.  This is what I do if it’s just my husband and I so I have less dishes to wash.
  5. Top with club soda to your liking. Less is more with this Patron margarita recipe.
  6. Garnish with a lime.

I also add a glass straw to our cocktails because it makes it easy to keep mixing the ingredients together.  Liqueurs can sometimes fall to the bottom; with a simple swish it stays nicely mixed in.  The Patron Lime Citronge really adds a smooth touch to a traditional margarita making it less tart!
