Just the wrong amount of spice and you end up with alcoholic hot sauce. You need an easy spicy margarita recipe in order to make sure you get just the right amount. You could always add more spice if you’d like but it’s a little harder to get rid of the spice.

There is something different about a margarita with a little spice. It feels like it bites back and it tastes amazing. However, it is very easy to go a little overboard with the spice which could throw off the margarita completely. An easy spicy margarita recipe can help enhance your cocktail hour recipes with a heat that feels good in the mouth and great for the soul.

This is an easy spicy margarita recipe. The margarita itself is a blood orange margarita. That blood orange flavor matches really well with spice. It is subtle and fruity but not overwhelmingly sweet. The spice we will add will be from jalapenos.

However, you will want to remove the seeds from the jalapenos before you use them in this recipe. The seeds are where most of the spice comes from in jalapenos. However, you can add more spice to the drink after you have tried it following these directions. There may also be a way to dilute the spice if it is too much to handle.

Spicy Margarita Recipe Ingredients

You will need the basic ingredients for a blood orange margarita. That list includes tequila, blood oranges, limes, Cointreau. You can also add seltzer water or club soda to add some fizz to the margarita. You’d be surprised by how much more enjoyable a fizzy margarita is when it is both fizzy and spicy.

We will get that spice from a jalapeno that has had the seeds removed and been sliced. You can also use lime wedges or slices as a garnish. Just be sure to keep in mind that spicy and tangy together may feel like more spice.
