Puppy Chow Chex Mix Recipe with Chocolate

The ingredients for this specific recipe are very specific, but you can add or remove anything you’d like. The only ingredients that are staples across any version of this recipe include the Chex Mix, creamy peanut butter, chocolate, and powdered sugar.

The Chocolate could also be switched out with white chocolate if you’d like. The vanilla is for added flavor, and the M&Ms, gummy candy, candy hearts, and sprinkles are all variables that you can remove if you’d like. 

How to make Puppy Chow Chex Mix Recipe with Chocolate

Combine peanut butter, butter, and chocolate in a large pan on low heat until melted and creamy. You could also microwave these ingredients together until melted. Just be sure to stir regularly. 

Once combined, turn off the heat, add vanilla, and stir. 

Add cereal to the chocolate mix and evenly coat until all cereal is covered. 

Working in batches, add coated cereal to a gallon bag with powdered sugar. Seal and shake the bag until the cereal is coated with sugar. 

On a cookie sheet with wax paper, spread out the cereal. Add candy and sprinkles, and let the mix dry.

Once the mix is dry, you can add it to a container or individual bags for gift-giving.
