Yosemite National Park. Hands down Yosemite is the most popular and visited National Park in California and for good reason! Not only are the waterfalls some of the tallest and impressive in California, but they are quite majestic and beautiful! It is not uncommon to see rainbows shining through as the water falls to the boulders below. If you want to see wildlife, Yosemite doesn’t disappoint. If you are an avid bird lover, don’t forget your binoculars and you might just be surprised to see a Bald Eagle or two. There is killer hiking from the Yosemite Valley floor up to Glacier Point and don’t be surprised to see deer, chipmunks, and an occasional black bear. Yosemite has the powerful Merced River flowing through it where you can fish all day or sit beside and get lost in a book. If you love to horseback ride, you can also do that at Yosemite. For those that are adrenaline junkies, you might love to do a little rock climbing.
Redwood National Park. Located in Northern California, Redwood National Park is filled with some of the tallest trees in the world. These redwoods are hundreds of years old and sometimes as round as a car! In the valleys of Redwood you can see elk grazing in the morning fog or you might be lucky enough to see some wild turkeys or other game. Head on over to Gold Bluffs Beach and be greeted as you make your way to the park by an enchanted forest that has moss hanging down from the trees making it hard to distinguish between night and day. When you break out of the tree grove you are rewarded to see one of the most beautiful beaches in California that have some serious waves crashing in. Redwood National Park is a great place to visit to get away from the hustle and bustle of your everyday life and escape into nature to recharge.
Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. If you want to see the world’s largest trees, huge mountains, deep canyons, and caverns to explore then you need to head to Sequoia National Park. Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks are located right next to each other in the southern Sierra Nevada Mountains. These national parks are perfect to bring the family and to see some killer views and differing landscapes that can only be found in California.
