Disney’s Frozen has become an instant classic. All over the world people know the Disney twist to the tale, and are singing the songs from the movie. While Frozen has become an award-winning movie and the biggest animated film ever, few know the story behind the making of the film. Soon, you can find out just what went into making Frozen, and how the animated film became a Disney Classic overnight.
ABC Television Network will be airing a special called “The Story of Frozen: Making a Disney Animated Classic”.
During the special, you’ll be able to get inside Disney Animation Studios and hear from the makers and stars of Frozen. You’ll see where the animation teams drew their inspiration from in Norway, Quebec and more. While that may be enough for some, Disney will show us plenty more-including a couple of surprises.
THE STORY THAT STARTED IT ALL
The story of Frozen that we all know and love (and sometimes sing along with) is actually a Disney twist on the classic tale “The Snow Queen” by Hans Christian Anderson. The original was published in 1844, and is one of Anderson’s longest and most widely known tales. During the special to air on ABC, we will see how the creators of Frozen used the Hans Christian Anderson tale to spark a new fairytale for new generations.
MEET THE STARS AND CREATORS
The characters on-screen have become icons almost overnight, but during the special, you’ll get to meet the stars behind the icons. In true Frozen fashion, the star behind Olaf, Josh Gad will be your host. Gad will introduce you to Kristen Bell (voice of Anna), Idina Menzel (voice of Elsa),the artists, songwriters, directors and producers as well as the chief creative officer, John Lasseter. The entire team will be there to show you how they turned the tale of the snow queen into a part of our families.
Frozen has extended their reach from the movie screens, to YouTube, Instagram, all over the web, even into our Disney Frozen party plans and last but not least, into our hearts. Though this television special will not be the last time we see Frozen in TV format. The tale of Frozen has found its way into Storybrooke, in ABC’s Once Upon A Time. During the Special, you’ll get a sneak peek of how Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff from Frozen will have their tale intertwined into the tales of Emma Swan and the rest of the fairytale characters currently stuck in Storybrooke.
The next big Disney movie will also get a sneak peek during the special. “Big Hero 6” is Disney’s next highly anticipated animated film, full of action, adventure and comedy. Disney Animation Studios has only released one trailer for “Big Hero 6” and already it’s setting up to be a classic.
THE FUTURE OF FROZEN
Frozen will not end here, as one of Disney’s biggest princess movies and one of the worlds best animated stories. Instead, Disney Animation Studios is already working on the next chapter of Frozen. During the special on ABC, you’ll be the first to hear what Frozen has in store for the future.
Make sure you watch “The Story of Frozen: Making a Disney Animated Classic” Tuesday, September 2 at 8:00-9:00 p.m., E.T. on ABC Television Network.
