To make shredded chicken tacos, you’ll need chicken, and that may seem obvious, but if you’re using a crockpot, you’ll also want to use chicken broth.
The chicken broth will ensure that your chicken doesn’t come out dry, and isn’t that the most important thing? Once you have the chicken and the broth, seasonings like oregano and onion powder will help add flavor to the recipe, and you’ll also want some garlic powder.
How to Make Crockpot Shredded Chicken Tacos
Place all ingredients into your crockpot and cook on low for approximately 5 1/2 hours or high for about 3 1/2 hours. If the chicken is frozen, you will need to add cooking time.
When the chicken is done cooking, shred the chicken with a fork. This shredded chicken can be used on tacos or in salads. You can serve it cold or warm.
Top with tomatoes and taco toppings of your choice. Shredded cheese is an optional topping for those not on a dairy-free diet, as is topping with sour cream.
