Eating healthy is very important but many people choose not to for a few different reasons. One of the most common reasons is that people just don’t think healthy tastes good. The problem is the healthy food, the problem is the recipes. Finding good, healthy recipes isn’t as easy, toss in the words “spinach” or “quinoa” and you’ll lose many people. But sauteed spinach with quinoa and beef is not only healthy but a delicious recipe.
This recipe for sauteed spinach and beef can be served with quinoa or brown rice and allows you to get in a large serving of spinach in the process!
Quinoa is a very popular part of a healthy diet, especially in recent years. But tell someone you’re going to make them a plate of sauteed spinach and quinoa and they will probably tell you not to bother.
But stay strong, and make this dish for them. Once they try it, they will see why and how eating healthy should be possible. Eating healthy doesn’t have to be a waste of a meal, it doesn’t have to have a lack of flavor.
People aren’t big fans of spinach, at least not younger people. That is because spinach has a specific flavor that some people just don’t enjoy. But there are a lot of ingredients that people don’t like by themselves.
The trick is in how you cook those ingredients. Sauteed spinach is a prime example of just that. This recipe is filled with amazing flavor and it can be hard to convince someone to try it for the first time. Hard but not impossible.
In fact, it can be healthy, full of amazing flavor, and also easy to accomplish. This recipe will do all of the above for you and it can get ridiculous how easy it is.
Sauteed Spinach | Ingredients
Making a healthy meal requires fresh and healthy ingredients. This recipe is no different with ingredients like tomatoes on the vine or fresh spinach.
That’s what it comes down to, the freshness of the ingredients. A can of spinach has a vastly different flavor than fresh spinach.
You will want to make sure these things are fresh. That freshness will make all of the difference in your finished product.
The quinoa and the beef are also important. Together, these ingredients make one amazing dish that everyone will enjoy. Even the younger members of your family. As long as you can get them to try it.
Steam rice while preparing rest of dish.
Dice tomatoes and onion.
Saute onion with brown sugar and 4 Tbsp margarine. Add a splash of balsamic vinegar.
While doing step 3, saute beef (broken into small pieces) with garlic salt and any additional desired spices. Cover and saute for 4-5 minutes.
Uncover and add tomatoes and sauteed onions and cook until all are warm and blended for about 4 minutes. Do not over stir as this will cause tomatoes to lose their texture.
Add 6 cups spinach and cover. Let the sauteed spinach soften and mix together with meat mixture.
Serve over brown rice or quinoa.
Serves 4-5. Cooking time 25-30 minutes.
