However, these granolas aren’t the best recipes for health-focused people. Good granola doesn’t have added sugars, preservatives, or high-fructose corn syrup.

Instead, a basic granola recipe combines different flavors from golden raisins, rolled oats, coconut flakes, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and so on. The delicious crunchy clusters go well with some sweetness from chocolate chips, dried fruit, or even in a smoothie bowl.

Ultimately, this easy vegan granola recipe can provide you with a healthy breakfast, a simple snack, and all the health benefits of a homemade granola recipe.

  • Old-Fashioned Oats: Old-fashioned rolled oats work best for this recipe. We can use gluten-free oats to make it even healthier. Never used instant oats for granola; that’s the most important part.
  • Nuts of your Choice: You can use whatever nut combo you enjoy the most. However, the one thing to be sure of is that the nuts are raw. That’s how we avoid added sugars, preservatives, and salt. We will add our own salt to this recipe.
  • Chia Seeds: Chia seeds are delicious and are a great addition to what will surely be your new favorite granola recipe. Of course, you can add any type of seeds you like.

  • Sea Salt: We have full control over the salt in this basic vegan granola recipe. The goal is to get a healthy snack and not overload our bodies with salt.
  • Avocado Oil: We need to get these ingredients nice and toasty. Dry ingredients like these need a little help getting started. Avocado oil will do the trick in a healthier way.

  • Agave Nectar: We can’t have granola without a touch of sweetness. The agave nectar will do part of the lifting here.
  • Pure Vanilla Extract: We want to add a lot of flavor without drenching the ingredients. Luckily, we can get that done with vanilla extract.
  • Toasted Unsweetened Coconut Chips: Coconut might be the best part of this recipe. It adds a different texture that goes well with the crunchy clusters.

How to Store Homemade Granola

We buy a simple granola mixture from the grocery store and often store it in the pantry. We can do the same with this easy vegan granola recipe. Store the granola in an airtight container or mason jar in a cool, dark place.

The pantry will work perfectly. However, we need to make sure the granola is in an airtight container. This will help the granola stay crunchy for longer. In fact, it should hold for about a month.

This makes it easier to cook a double batch and keep a stock on hand for when you need an easy and healthy snack.
