It can be grueling waiting in all of those lines trying to get that special gift at that special price. Take a break, and read up on some of the hectic news today that’s coming straight out of Hollywood. This is your celebrity news of the past week. Let’s get started with Angelina Jolie.
It could pay to look like a celebrity, especially one as popular as Angelina Jolie. Recently the UCLA Daily Bruin ran a classified ad. This ad was looking for a woman who looks like Angelina Jolie, to donate her eggs. How much were they willing to pay for those eggs? $30k!
From eggs, to rear ends, this week was exciting. J-Lo and Iggy Azalea performed at the 2014 AMAs. Their entire performance had a major theme running through. It may be hard to guess, butt the song was called “Booty”. Can you guess what the theme was?
While J-Lo and Iggy are getting jiggy, there are a couple of other singers who aren’t getting along as well. Bette Midler and Ariana Grande were “feuding” over a comment Divine Miss M has made. Midler said during an interview about Ariana Grande, “You Don’t have to make a whore out of yourself to get ahead.” While that may be true, Midler also apologized just a few days later via twitter saying, “About my screed on [Ariana Grande], all I can say is, ‘Spoken like a reformed old whore!’” We would add a joke here, but Bette Midler did that for us, with her very interesting way of apologizing.
Twitter is the place where all celebs go to put their foot in their mouth. Take Roseanne Barr for example with her tweets about Bill Cosby. Roseanne sent out a tweet with a photo of herself bruised, as if she was in a fight with Bill Cosby. The caption of the photo said, “tussle w bill cosby.” After that, she sent out another tweet saying “U should see that mfer.” Instead of apologizing for the tweets that made light of a fresh and heavy situation right now, Roseanne just deleted the tweets. Roseanne then sent out a tweet saying, “Got a chemical peel to look sexier. Joked about tussling cosby.”
Social media is a great way for celebrities to get in trouble, spread some news, and even cut the media off on a big story. Using Instagram, Chester Hanks (Yes, Tom Hanks eldest son) was the first to break news about his cocaine addiction. Chester decided that the best way to take the wind from the sails of a tabloid whose plan was to release the story, was to use Instagram to post a short explanation video. In the video, Chester says, “I’ve been struggling with substance abuse since I was 16 years old.” He also boasted that he is “50 days clean and sober from everything, including alcohol.”
Social media proved to be the biggest celebrity this week. Allowing for celebrities to air out dirty laundry, making dirty laundry, and giving unwanted advice. Remember that next time you type up a tweet, or post a pic to the internet. Or you can just keep up the embarrassing insight, and maybe one day you’ll be in our celebrity news.
