As your children start back to school, you may be looking to add some variety to their lunch box. Snacktrition provides a variety of healthy and tasty alternatives for your children, as well as everyone in your family.
Snacktrition’s product line currently consists of Calcium Sea Salt Almonds, Calcium Smoked Almonds, Fiber Salt & Pepper Cashews, Fiber Sea Salt Cashews, and Calcium & Fiber Fruit & Nut Mix. Each is available in a 3 ounce bag for $2.99 or a 9 ounce tub for $6.99.
Snacktrition takes care in how they prepare the nuts clearly making them a healthy choice. While many other companies oil roast their nuts, Snacktrition oven roasts theirs. What does that mean for you? For starters, that you actually get the “good fats” you want from the nuts versus the added fats from oils. Snacktrition also sprinkles their nuts with fiber and calcium before baking to give you some added nutrients your diet may be lacking. Let’s face it, we have the best of intentions, but the vast majority of us could probably benefit from some extra calcium and fiber in our diet. As an example, one-fourth cup of Fiber Salt & Pepper Cashews adds an extra 3 grams of dietary fiber to your diet. If you eat the whole bag, that gives you an extra 9 grams – LOL!
My family gave these snacks a try and for a healthy snack, Snacktrition’s products taste really good. They do not skimp on flavor in the least; the Salt & Pepper Cashews are unique and would make a great finger food for parties. Another thing that stood out is that the natural nut flavor is not hidden behind a heavy oil and salt flavor; instead the nut is predominant. Wow…imagine that! The nuts with the added fiber also seemed to fill us up more quickly, which helped keep portions in check. This can be tricky with nuts because a one ounce serving is really what is recommended. That equates to approximately 23 nuts or two handfuls. So, any extra support in portion control is an added bonus in my opinion.
