Phase 1 South Beach Diet: Day 6

Yahoo!  I weighed in down another 1.8 pounds for a total of 4.8 lost so far since Monday.  I did circuits 1-4 of Jillian’s No More Trouble Zones today…AKA Quick Trouble Zones.  That is quickly becoming my favorite exercise DVD because you truly feel your muscles building the more you do it.

I was nervous about today since we had friends coming for dinner and to stay overnight.  I really wanted a glass of red wine, but did stay strong.  I did cheat once today and had some bread with the yummy turkey chili I made for dinner.  Lunch was also a bit off because I had an appointment that ran from 11:30 until 1:45.  I tossed a string cheese stick in my purse, along with some peanuts.  I figure this is real life…so while I did not have access to a salad or other vege, I made good choices that fit what I could do.

Some of you have emailed, tweeted, etc. wondering why I don’t eat eggs and any nuts.  I have a tree nut and egg allergy – a true bummer!  Those are great sources of protein, especially for breakfast and snack.

So overall, I am content with today.  I am feeling wonderful, more energetic, don’t have the 1pm desire to nap, and enjoy not feeling puffy from carbs.

Day Six Meals:
Breakfast:
Coffee
8 oz water
1/2 cup chicken salad
3 celery stalks

Lunch:
Starbucks half caff coffee
3 pumps of vanilla
1 serving dry roasted peanuts
1 string cheese
15 oz water

Dinner:
Turkey Chili
12 oz water
1.5 rolls
side salad with 1 tbsp dressing

Snacks:

None
Total Calories for Day: 1243
