Lexie Barnes has two wonderful backpacks that can meet a multitude of needs. The Duchess (shown here in Baja) has been around for awhile and is marketed as a backpack diaper bag. The Pixie (shown in Utopia) is new this year as a laptop backpack. My hope is that I can provide some pictures and ideas here that help you see how you can use one or both of them in your life. The good news is that you can’t go wrong with either one!
The Duchess is a tad smaller than the Pixie. On the exterior, the two bags are very similar. Each features two slip pockets on the front of the bag. They are a nice size fitting my iPhone and keys securely. Each also features two bottle pockets on the sides. The Duchess has mesh pockets while the Pixie’s are made with the fabric of the bag.
The Pixie and Duchess each have two zippered compartments; this is the front one which is a bit smaller than the main one. The Duchess is basically an open area that easily fits my Pilot and two medium Be Set’s (Yay Ju-Ju-Be!). The Pixie is the same concept except has three small slip pockets. I can fit my computer accessories in there or my diaper bag stuff, making the Pixie quite versatile.
This is the main compartment. The Duchess features three small slip pockets on the front interior of this compartment. The Pixie features two larger ones. I can fit my wireless mouse in the pockets in the Pixie. On the left, you can also see the pink pocket hanging down on the inside. This is a small pocket that is accessed from the rear top of the bag – fits the smallest Be Set perfectly, a camera, keys, or whatever. It is easy to get to and a nice feature. I tucked the changing pad behind that pocket (The Pixie does not come with a changing pad…most laptop bags don’t – LOL!).
As I said, you can’t go wrong with either the Duchess or the Pixie. Each feature easy to clean fabric that can be wiped off and a wide assortment of patterns. I do have to toss this kudo out to Lexie Barnes…I was highly skeptical of the Pixie before I received it. I have a HUGE Swiss Army laptop bag that I am very partial too. It fits a ton and has never done me wrong. I was able to fit everything I usually carry in the Pixie, but the bonus is it was so much lighter (and I can carry a matching shoulder bag in Utopia when I travel – hehe!). It does not have the extra space to shove this and that like my other laptop bag, but I don’t always need to lug the entire office with me. The Pixie is a great addition to the Lexie Barnes line! Whether diaper bag, laptop bag, book bag, or random schtuff bag, the Lexie Barnes Duchess and Pixie are great backpacks that can meet those needs, but not leave fashion at the door. So these are my thoughts…what are yours?
