What it Does

Using a massive food database, MyFitnessPal allows you to easily input what you’ve eaten. Once the information is there, the app will tell you how many calories were consumed. One of the major aspects of MyFitnessPal that sets it apart from any other calorie counting app is the database. This calorie counter has a database filled with over five million different foods.

How it Helps

Keeping track of your calorie intake is very important to a diet plan. There are many schools of thought on if counting calories really work. First it is best to understand what calories are and what they do before picking a school of thought. Calories are a way to measure the energy that the body can absorb from foods. Calories come in different types, one way is through carbs. However when those calories aren’t used during your workout or walk about, they end up in stored fat. In order to make sure you aren’t storing more than you need, you need to count your calories and compare that to calories burned on average. That is where MyFitnessPal comes into play by keeping you in your target calorie intake vs. loss during your workouts.

If you want to lose weight while using MyFitnessPal, be sure to check out all of our workout reviews, tips and resources.
