A Holiday Tradition: Making Cookies

No wonder people tend to gain weight over Christmas!  This weekend was full of making (and eating…) some yummy Christmas cookies as a yummy tradition.
We made cut out sugar cookies and then frosted them with plenty of sprinkles.  One Daddy and I learned that our children still do not have the attention span to help as much as we would like, but hey, all in good time!
They had a blast decorating them and oddly enough, tried for considerably high ratios of sprinkles and frosting. 🙂
It takes much careful consideration to plot sprinkle dumps.
Thankfully, a watched cookie does bake.  This image is so sweet to me…
After a long day’s work, it was finally time to enjoy!  Last year, Princess A would not even eat cookies with frosting.  After some precious planning, she figured out how to do it while not getting her fingers too dirty. 🙂
As for Mr. C, well he dug right in!
For Our Children, making cookies is one of their favorite holiday traditions. Just seeing their eyes light up when they talk about it and enjoy the cookies is amazing.
What are your favorite holiday traditions?
